Meditation is a form of relaxation and has significant health benefits. When meditating, your breathing becomes deeper which allows your body to receive more oxygen, your heart rate slows, all your muscles begin to relax, all aches and pains disappear for the duration of your meditation, your mind switches off from daily human problems and you allow your inner mind (the spiritual mind) to communicate with the inner you, along with your Guides and Angels. Blood pressure drops and doing a meditation everyday, is enough to actually begin to feel these health benefits.
When researching on the web, how to meditate, the consensus is to switch phones off, get yourself comfortable, listen to some soft music and focus on your breathing. Advise is to meditated for 10 -20 mins at a time but in actual fact, all these health benefits can be gains with just 2 mins a day.
Those of us that are experienced at meditation, can meditate in the middle of a night club, or at the checkout queue in the supermarket! It is all about shifting your focus to the inner peaceful area of your soul even if its just for a few mins.
Have you ever found yourself staring at something and you lose awareness of what is going off around you? That is a form of meditating called live meditation. Meditation does not necessarily mean you are going down a path in a garden etc, meditating is about switching of the brain and body and listening to your inner voice.
Close your eyes (make sure you’re in a safe place…not when driving!), and focus on your breathing and count in your mind, your in breath to a 5 and again on your out breath and know your health is benefiting. By doing this, your brain can not process any other thought at the same time.
So, next time you are stressed, uptight or just need a break, do your brain and physical a favor, and meditate.
The internet is flooded with thousands of positive life affirmations. Which can work - when we shut the subconscious mind up!
But, why don't they work all the time?
Our subconscious mind is constantly talking to us, telling us that we are not confident enough, that we don't deserve happiness, etc. It is the place where "I can't" comes from.
When we sleep, our subconscious goes into overdrive, doing a number on our lives, telling us we can't do it, that we are useless, or we are stupid or even that we are not worthy. As we sleep, we listen.
Throughout the day our subconscious mind picks up on all the little doubts, insecurities, and negative thought or feelings that we have heard/felt throughout our entire lives. Now, you are going to undo all those things that the subconscious mind has heard and learnt, that it has used to prevent us from having the "perfect life" that we all deserve.
By determination. By focus. By self discipline you can gain control over your subconscious.
If you are told something over and over again and for long enough, you will eventually believe it. your subconscious has learned to believe it, it turns it into a truth that your conscious mind accepts.
Advertising do a good job by making us believe that if you are larger than, say a size 14, you are fat, but by using their dieting product you will become slimmer, therefore more attractive. A hair product will also help you to become beautiful, or that a particular brand of drink can make you happier, more loved.
Notice the magazines and other media. The colours they use. How many young, slim, ladies with perfectly white teeth are used to convey their message? Our eyes are attracted to bright and vibrant colours. Colour has been associated with feelings and emotional connections for a long time. Subconsciously we see theses adverts and want what they have: Happy and slim, smiling with white teeth, sun kissed skin, and shiny hair. Wouldn't our life be better just by buying that brand of *insert brand here! Yet, when we buy it, does it really make that much of a difference?
It is false information.
To be bright, happy, and full of life, begins with you. The inner you. Your soul. Your inner child.
What is it that makes you happy? Think about what it is that really makes you happy? What is it that you really like, or don't like?
Begin your journey by finding out who YOU really are.
This is where affirmations and inspiring quotes or statements come into play - for you. Once you have a list of what it is that makes you happy, the next step is getting it!
You can adopt statements or affirmations from the internet. but better still, write your own. These will have a true connection to you. You will be more likely to remember them, and therefore believe in them, if they are yours. You will succeed in turning your subconscious around, into believing what you are saying is a truth.
Begin changing your life for the better today.
Know that it WILL happen.
Because, your subconscious is always listening!
Definition of spiritual....."relating to or affecting the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things".
When we talk about being spiritual, the majority of people think you are either religious or a psychic. But this isn't the case.
As the definition describes, to be Spiritual is having a heart. If you see a child being bullied, or an old man struggling in the street, or a beautiful tree being cut down and you are moved by it, then you are spiritual. In fact you have to be a very hard person not to be moved by others demise or by the destruction of nature. So probably 99% of the worlds population are "spiritual".
But people seem to forget this. They act as spiritual people "when it suits them".If you are not a nature lover, then chopping down trees that help us breath, isn't going to bother you.
Destroying another park to build a high rise building, isn't going to bother you. When was the last time you stopped what you were doing, just for a moment and had a look around? When was the last time you looked up instead of looking down?
What would happen if we all paid more attention to our "spiritual side", what would the world be like? Would it make for a better world? A better life? We would still have our own everyday problems, bills to pay and stresses, but maybe, just maybe we would learn how to cope better, to worry less, to help more often, and to love and care more. Maybe, just maybe the world would become a more stable economy, famine and lack of water, a thing of the past, struggling, a thing of the past, people would live longer, and ailments would subside. Maybe, just maybe............
Isn't it worth trying? After all, we are all spiritual, and if we listened to this side of us more, you just might experience an easier life x
