The internet is flooded with thousands of positive life affirmations. Which can work - when we shut the subconscious mind up!
But, why don't they work all the time?
Our subconscious mind is constantly talking to us, telling us that we are not confident enough, that we don't deserve happiness, etc. It is the place where "I can't" comes from.
When we sleep, our subconscious goes into overdrive, doing a number on our lives, telling us we can't do it, that we are useless, or we are stupid or even that we are not worthy. As we sleep, we listen.
Throughout the day our subconscious mind picks up on all the little doubts, insecurities, and negative thought or feelings that we have heard/felt throughout our entire lives. Now, you are going to undo all those things that the subconscious mind has heard and learnt, that it has used to prevent us from having the "perfect life" that we all deserve.
By determination. By focus. By self discipline you can gain control over your subconscious.
If you are told something over and over again and for long enough, you will eventually believe it. your subconscious has learned to believe it, it turns it into a truth that your conscious mind accepts.
Advertising do a good job by making us believe that if you are larger than, say a size 14, you are fat, but by using their dieting product you will become slimmer, therefore more attractive. A hair product will also help you to become beautiful, or that a particular brand of drink can make you happier, more loved.
Notice the magazines and other media. The colours they use. How many young, slim, ladies with perfectly white teeth are used to convey their message? Our eyes are attracted to bright and vibrant colours. Colour has been associated with feelings and emotional connections for a long time. Subconsciously we see theses adverts and want what they have: Happy and slim, smiling with white teeth, sun kissed skin, and shiny hair. Wouldn't our life be better just by buying that brand of *insert brand here! Yet, when we buy it, does it really make that much of a difference?
It is false information.
To be bright, happy, and full of life, begins with you. The inner you. Your soul. Your inner child.
What is it that makes you happy? Think about what it is that really makes you happy? What is it that you really like, or don't like?
Begin your journey by finding out who YOU really are.
This is where affirmations and inspiring quotes or statements come into play - for you. Once you have a list of what it is that makes you happy, the next step is getting it!
You can adopt statements or affirmations from the internet. but better still, write your own. These will have a true connection to you. You will be more likely to remember them, and therefore believe in them, if they are yours. You will succeed in turning your subconscious around, into believing what you are saying is a truth.
